The New Orleans Saints have their home arena at Louisiana Superdome Stadium.

The Saints signed center Jerry Fontenot to a one-year contract. Jerry is a 15-year veteran, 6-3 inches tall , and has started 100 games for the Saints since 1997. He had played the first 128 games with the Chicago Bears.

Saints safety Jay Bellamy was arrested recently for  drunken driving and was fines $20,000.

Defensive end Darren Howard has signed a one-year contract with New Orleans Saints .Howard, has 202 career tackles and 30 sacks. The Saints did not clear the terms of the contract.

On the injuries front C. Grant, K. Smith and S. Folau are out of the team for having their knee injured. Another player K. Carter is out of action for a toe injury.

New Orleans businessman Dave Dixon was looking for a stadium for his football team.  In 1966 the Louisiana Legislature passed a bill granting permission for building a stadium for the team. The construction of the stadium began in 1971 and was completed in August 1975. The dome stadium was known as Louisiana Superdome and spread over 13 acres of land and was 23 stories tall. The Saints played their first game on September 28, 1975. Louisiana Superdome has a capacity of almost 70,000 seats and the surface of the field is Fieldturf. The cost of the stadium was $138 million.
