The New York Giants make a home stand from Giants Stadium in Meadowlands.

The Giants were made to cut down two days workout of their off season program as they disobeyed the NFL's collective bargaining agreement. They would continue their off season workouts from June 1.

New York Giants signed in Kurt Kittner and wide receiver James McKnight as free agents. James had spend his last 3 seasons playing for Miami Dolphins.

In August 1971 the Giants signed a 30 year lease deal for their own stadium. The construction of the stadium started in 1972 and was completed in 1976.
